PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Welcome to Woodside Intermediate School!
As part of the Cromwell Public Schools, Woodside Intermediate School (WIS) proudly serves approximately 440 students in grades 3, 4, and 5. WIS is a beautiful facility that was built in 2005. It provides a warm and welcoming environment for our students.
At WIS, we are a community of learners that challenge our minds daily through critical and creative thinking, collaborating and communicating with others, and looking for opportunities to demonstrate compassion.
Here are some of the instructional approaches, programs, and tools that help students reach their maximum potential at WIS:
● A blend of whole class and small group instruction
● Differentiated instruction and interventions in response to student needs
● Bridges Math
● i-Ready for reading and math
● Science instruction using NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards)
● RULER - Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
● All students receive a laptop to use for the year
● Instrumental program (grades 4 and 5)
● Weekly HOT (Higher Order Thinking) Block Enrichment
We encourage our students to show their "Woodside Pride" each and every day, in all situations. We define Woodside Pride through the core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Kindness.
